STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND GOALS FOR REENACTING Our unit is called Aufklärungs-Abteilung 53, 3.Infanterie-Division (MOT). Time period of NOV 1940 to JUNE 1943. Reconnaissance will be the main impression of our unit. While we plan on doing a mostly reconnaissance impression, depending on the particular time frame of the event we attend, we will plan to be flexible enough to a Unit of the 3. Infanterie-Division for early war, or the 3. Panzergrenadier-Division for events after Stalingrad. PURPOSE The purpose of our impression is to encourage the collection of WWII items, present an accurate portrayal of the average German soldier’s situation, educate the public at public events and to experience, even if only a minute, a day in the life of a WWII German Army (Heer) soldier. We also add having fun to this experience and sharing the fun with others. We want to work at becoming the premier HRS German unit in the State of Wisconsin, and will support events primarily in Wisconsin - but will also support events in Minnesota and Illinois. GOAL To preserve the experiences, memories, uniforms, equipment and vehicles of World War II. OUR MOTO Historical Motto is – “Trouble.” Divisionszeichen or Abzeichen= divisional symbol. "Kreuz und Quer" is the name for the divisional insignia and is also a German synonym for "trouble". This symbol is also commonly referred to as the Lorraine Cross. The 3 lines of the symbol represent the Heer divisional number. It looks like this -
