Just completed for the armored car build is this excellent replica of the transceiver used for radio communications in many of Germany's armored vehicles during WWII. It will be mounted on the pedestal and will therefore be moving with the turret. I've made a not equally as good headset but will be on the lookout for an actual headset depending on cost. There will be a modern intercom in use as well. The entire setup. This is entirely scratch-built including the cables. The builder even made them look like actual bakelight. Amazing. The builder is Ken Kerwell, the CO of 7th Panzer re-enactors. Close-up of the detail on the faceplate. The knobs all work. This will spruce up the interior. Wow! That thing looks just like the real one. Ken could make money if he wanted to keep building them for other armor reenactors. It is gorgeous. It says that the 250's had them also so I guess we'll need Ken to build one more at least.

That looks great! Can't wait to see it in person. When you say the knobs work, do you mean just move? Or do they control the radio? Very cool either way.

The knobs turn. The radio does not operate. We plan to have an MP3 player provide some music and sound but no plans (as of yet) of making the radio anything but an interior prop for now.
