Dixon AAR. For ourselves, we had three in attendance. Hans, Otto and Franz. The 7th arrived with Jurgen, Gelhard, Wilhelm, Heinrich, and Karl. Weather was interesting with lots of heat and humidity and a morning rain (I like those) and so I give that an 80-percent. The battles were fun and interesting. Three battles with two on Sat and one on Sun. Spectators got their monies worth. The organization was good too and I didn't hear of any problems with us. Next year we are probably going again and will support the event with armor so there will be more German opposition. That will make three pieces if repeat customers return. This year Chuck Roberts loaned his Bren carrier and a fellow from Indiana brought a cool Mk1 Panzer that is built for public battles. Here are some photos. Our meek recreation of a famous photo. Still need fire to cook even when its 90-degrees The owner has pyro devices he controls electrically in the tank for when he wants to take a hit. Very effective. Fleeing American advance Jurgen takes one in the chest while an apparently unarmed American soldier is out for a Sunday stroll. Chance tried to get a good picture. Field repairs Striped down for a nighttime tactical patrol. End of Sunday group shot. Next up is Iola on August 12-14.
