On 26-27 Feb 2016, four of us went to Scott Steben's property in Iowa for participation in filming a short drama on WWII Western Front stories. The project is the brainchild of Luke Schuetzle, of "War Pigs" fame. We took "Gustaf" and the Pak38 along and filmed scenes on Saturday. It was lot's of fun. I think the series will be out for public consumption by Christmas. We are also supporting further story development with "Bessie" (our troop truck) later in March in Minnesota and looking ahead there may be a story requiring motorcycles in Italy. Anything to help the adage, "On with the show." We get taken out and all die for the glory of the US Army.

Nice photo of the Pak. Too bad you didn't get one of me with my borrowed mouse grey parka.
In the morning the director had us stage several hundred yards off the main path down by a river. By the time the shoot was over in late afternoon, the previously frozen ground had turned to mud. A second group of film people who were there doing a reality piece on reenactors filmed about 10-15 of us manhandling the Pak with a tow rope through a couple of hundred yards of mud. Gustav was stuck too and although she almost made it out she needed help from a four wheel jeep and tow rope to get out of the quagmire. It was a pretty realistic and interesting end to the day's activities.

Nice photo post Mike. Try to keep Gustav a little bit cleaner.
