Folks - This is slated for next May. We can arrive on Friday the 20th to set up camp. Weapons demos allowed. Campfires allowed. A USO dance (big band) is scheduled for Saturday night. Two day event. They are going to provide something for reenactors but haven't finalized the offering yet. 7th Panzer is coming with us and we are committed to this event. I like the small home-spun affairs. This will be an encampment with German and US forces represented. This event approaches and I hope those that are going are getting ready. Right now I believe Wilhelm, Otto, Franz, and Paul are going to show. We plan to bring the truck/gun combo to this one. There will be others from 7th Panzer there too. Don't forget - music on Saturday. Let's kick off the year and get rid of cabin fever.

I am planning on coming to this event. I am also talking with someone from Milwaukee who is interested in our airsoft group. He will either come as a spectator or attend on Saturday. I will be bringing a spare uniform for him just in case

google Watertown military show and you'll get their website. It looks like they are announcing battle reenactments both days at 1:00pm. Looks well organized. Lots of music and prior advertising so I'm thinking this will be a decent event.

A heads up, I am planning on attending with the US reenactors for this event as it looks like the allies may be low on numbers. I will be bringing my German stuff as well, and can swap if need be.

This was another fun event. Troy and Matt bolstered the U.S. forces and Mike W., Mike A., and I did our traditional German impressions. We were there with seven members of 7th Panzer and so between the two groups we had 12 in attendance. Pretty good! The USO dance was a big hit with many of our group attending until late in the evening. The two battles were simple but fun and on Sunday we met a WW2 veteran who had served in the Mediterraean from Africa thru Italy. He was lively and we gave him a ride in the truck. Hope all had a good time. Weather was great. Next event for us as a group will be in Dixon Illinois towards the end of June. Mike and I will bring the cycle and so there will be two of them at the event. When we left we had to winch the truck (Gustav) onto the trailer but it was just flooded so no headaches when we unloaded.

Franz covered the information part. Here are some pics with input from a couple of other attendees. You know who you are and I'm going to assume I can post your pics unless I hear otherwise. Also the battles were a big hit and I thought well received by the audience and though they were small numbers (about 18-battlers in all) I felt we held their interest and did Alex Gee proud. Alex was the organizer for this one and he is a regular 7th Pz member. An American Vet who served in Italy with a Chemical Mortar Bn. He was the driver for the C.O. (a captain) and confided that he got to see a lot because his captain was "curious" and always wanted to be driven around their areas. His family basically carried him down to see our camp and I got to drive him back to civilization. It's humbling how the vets always enjoy our efforts. If we have anyone with heartburn over our impressions or hobby they aren't the vets. As you can see he was showered with attention in the camp. Nice of his family to share him. Camp view Another view of our camp which was placed far away from all other attractions. People really had to want to trek out to see us if they held an interest. German Shepherds are always welcome in our camp. Catching some much needed rest which didn't last long enough. Full moon shot which didn't do the moment justice on film but still a nice photo. A nice shot of Gelhard's bike build. Gelhard was sporting his gold wound badge and looks healthier at every event. New avatar material for Paul? Hmmm... Casablanca shots. Hollywood should come calling. Recon activity at dance entrance

Great event, thanks to all the organizers, Alex Gee, etc. It was really nice to see everyone again. The Weather was perfect. A little warm for May, specially for those who wore wool but we are all a dedicated group so it's ok. Thanks should also go out to those individuals who brought out their vehicles and heavy weapons, the process of loading and unloading is a large job in itself, thanks again guys. I kind of figured the PAK was heavy but holy cow! She is a beast. We were all treated to a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk with a WWII US vet as stated before. A big thanks to him and him family for making the long walk to our camp, boy was it a humbling experience. Great pictures Otto, thanks to those who shared them with us. Favorites have to be the group shot with US Vet and Otto trying to catch some rest.
