This is a fun event that we want to support. This year we plan at present to bring truck and gun to this. There will likely also be a M/C. We'll have some 7th Pz support too.

I double checked on this event and we are still a go. Early arrival is approved and this is perhaps one of my favorite events. It's small - with us representing the German forces and Randy's group the American. No battles but lots of visitors and it is a good group at that. If you want to camp and answer questions then this is the event for you. No fires so cooking is by propane stove only and that is per airport rules. Otherwise we have a chance to do some training and get primed for Rockford the following week. Let me know if you plan to show.
New for this year is that gun demonstrations are allowed if they are notified so as to make announcement to the visitors. No "fire in the hole" calls but they will announce and then we can fire the demo. Neat!

Quick AAR. Another good show. We were busy with a huge crowd of spectators and lots of family groups. Also a return visit from a WWII vet of the 8th Armored Division. His interesting story was that after the war he and another buddy changed out the engine in one of Goering's Mercedes that locals wanted to run in a parade. He came home in 1946 and landed in France in Jan 45. Franz had a nice talk with a local contest winner who was friendly and interesting. She had a nice sense of priorities. Attendance for our group was Franz, Otto and Wilhelm and Wilhelm worked with Randy in the U.S. display. I'd like at least one more for next year.
