Completed in 2015 is this nice original radio with 100-percent genuine replica battery box. Ken, the C.O. of 7th Panzer built the battery box which is an item needed with the radio and never available in the marketplace. No problem since his build looks so good. It will be mounted in the rear of the Sd. Kfz. 250/1 and modern electronics installed in the battery box to provide battle sound effects/news dispatches and music from the period. This can also be used for a camp display with a radio operator. Ken, the builder took me on a tour of the insides of the radio (originally from Norway) and showed me that the Germans marked all kinds of waffenampts and Wehrmacht markings inside their gear. But that stuff is all hidden under the covers.

At the Farmington 2015 event I am working on providing us with some music. I have a small powered speaker and it connects to an ipod and those components will fit inside the battery box of our replica radio which I am bringing. So far I have German marches, some Edith Piaf (French singer of the period) and Vera Lynn (English singer of the period). I might be able to figure out how to throw in some youtube speeches but haven't figured it out yet. If anybody has anything period that they would suggest I add to the playlist chime in and I'll try to add it.

I have two mp3 files of generic WWII radio chatter from WWII video games that could add a nice touch for a more "military"/"in the field" sound. I was going to try to figure out how to intermix and combine them into one long file but haven't gotten around to it. If you pm me an email I can try sending them to you. They are taken from these two videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=JniHg8QI3KUwww.youtube.com/watch?v=HCF-HETvF2cEdit: a quick update. I had some time this morning so I edited the two files together into one big file. I intermixed the different emotes together and went with the lower pitch white noise as the background as I felt it would be less invasive of a sound.

I got it and it has been added to our playlist on our radio ipod. Matt, do you know how to take a youtube video and get it transferred to a windows media player file. I would like to add lili marleen and katyusha to our radio channel. Thanks. There's a lot of stuff on youtube videos that would make for good listening but I lack the know how.

I used this website: anything2mp3.com/All you have to do is find the youtube video, then copy and paste the video's URL at the very top of the page into the bar on the website. It will convert it for you and then you can download it straight to your computer. If you have any questions let me know.
